Eastern Comma larva, late instar beginning Leaf Tent (Laportea canadensis)

This is a Comma butterfly larva starting to make its leaf tent on Wood Nettle, with silk. The silk comes out of a spinnerette located under its mouth. He will completely close up the leaf so he has protection inside. From there he will eat, or he may pupate.
