had this in my garden about 2 years now---was about 12inches high when i bought it and now stands about 10ft tall and absolutely loves whatever type soil we have got --it does lose its leaves HOWEVER the berry bunches,as i call them, stay hung through autumn/winter and the birds live on them---at this time of year its mainly the branches with the leftover dried leaves of the "bunches" but has now started to sprout new leaf growth as spring seems to be sort of here

One of my favourite shrubs.....i have one that's about 6 ft high.....took a cutting from my mothers garden and it was easy to grow....seems to like any soil.....i've recently taken a cutting from mine, as i want another one in the back garden.....do you prune yours?....what's the max height?
