Thanks Penny. It was a windy day..still windy as of today. ALL month has been like this.
Last year was everybody's idea of a California May. Sunny, and 23C days and warmer. Not this year.

We had the winds last month here Stan such a shame you ve got them now. I know tall building can make weather worse and we are getting lots of those here recently especially in the city I live in.

Stan,

This tree looks excellent. It will probably grow very fast this year since it very well established. You'll most likely get some really good fruit set, also.

I know what you mean, it's been windy, cool and very cloudy here...even with drizzle and little showers. Very unusual for it to be so cool this time of year. I think now we get hotter weather during winter than spring. :>//

Thanks Andy. Finally its fruiting AND growing in the same year. I notice that when small..they will do one or the other but not both.
This is more like what you get in warm climates.

I've been cleaning under it- weeding. I want sun to warm that soil under it. I read that most Mango roots are in the top 10" of soil.
HD sells a blended compost for $5 a sack that has done a great job for my Tomatoes and other plants. I think a layer of that under this tree next (warmup) will really boost it.

Stan,

I think it has more to do with the size of the tree. The more mature the tree the more flowering and growth on mango trees.

Most trees love composting. It feed them throughout the growing season.
