Haha.. I couldn't say the botanical name if I wanted to! Providing they are dead headed, they last months! Fabulous aren't they!

We have a very hot Summer climate, and they grow like mad, but, of course die in Winter. However, we found something on a local market we thought were exactly the same, but we didn't recognise the name, and, blow me down, after the worst winter since records in this part of the world began, they've all popped up again, so, not just perennials, but very, very hardy ones, too. Hooray!

I didn't know they had a perennial type! These are annual that I plant fresh from seed every year. Any idea where I can get the perennial ones from?

Apparently they're called Delosperma, and should be available from good Garden Centres, Sharon.

Oh, my husband 'loves' these, but I won't grow them because they only open up in sunshine! Don't worry, he's getting over it!

That is very true! For some reason, my OH calls these ....pseudo doodoes.....I suppose that's because he struggles with 'mesembryanthemums'...but in our house they will always be known as 'pseudoo doodoes' !

Oh THAT's a Livingstone daisy! I didn't know. I call those mesembryanthemums, but LD is so much easier to say.
