It ripened with the apple. Pineapple-apple-Banana flavored. Mild. Not much to eat,but free.

Mine have ripen in my back yard, also. I need to pick them before the ants get to them. Now, that the huge Ficus craterastoma was cut down my Monstera deliciosa will grow even more fruit from more light.

It might have, but I just didnt want to take a chance it would rot or a Raccoon..something.
Another tip Andy? If they dry out ripening...let fruit (after its shed all the skin) sit in shallow water over night. Plumps it right up. I used those Banana split boats.
The aroma also filled the refrigerator.

The variety I have the kernels turn yellow and smell like pineapple.
Thanks for the information!
I used to have more fruit; however, I think rats ate them! Yuck! San Diego is so famous for having so many rats.

It actually filled the kitchen with a mild Pineapple aroma the next day. I hate to see it go!
