Just love that colour combo.SH...and it sent me scurrying out to see if my Actinidia Kolomikta was still looking good - but needless to say the gales have wrecked havoc and it is all tattered. Hopefully my virginia creepers will get a chance to colour up before the weather does its worst....again!!
Do you have a lot of of that creeper - it must look stunning.

Yes indeed Catfinch - you are correct and I find that it is the early leaves that are variegated - and when it was a young plant - it was reluctant to show the lovely pink tones....so have patience..you will be rewarded :~)))

On one website it is listed as tender and on the other it is listed as frost hardy - both of these in the UK...so I guess you take pot luck - if you will pardon the pun and pop YOUR pots out of chilly winds for the winter. How low do your temps go?

Alz have just put in an Actinidia but not sure of the variety, are they fast growing? it has no colour at all just green, and does it self cling?

Right now mine are attached to a moveable trellis I fashioned out a flag display I had ..lol..so I can move it easily..now just need to decide where! It can get into the 20's and once in a rare moon the teens, but that is not often or for long periods of time.

Hi there DD2....no they don't really self cling - they don't have "pads" like virginia creeper or ivy and don't twine like clematis. You will need to help it to start up a wall or through a shrub - where they can give a very pretty effect .
The other thing I have found and it is said in some books - that the juvenile foliage does not colour up and mine certainly didn't for a couple of years at least. My one is about 20 years old and is a bit weary these days as it has been overtaken by some nearby - or what WAS nearby Viburnum Bodnantense Dawn - very pretty but a bit thuggish if allowed and I really must rescue my Actinidia...I let my garden helper do the pruning last year as I was ill....but must try to do more myself this autumn:>((
