This one is very long stemmed and really needs staking.

Is this the one you sent me, it is doing grand, very strong. So pleased, bought a packet of mixed colour Penstemon seed.

I have a very dark red one in a tub but I'm not very happy with it. It has gone rather shrubby & the flowers are not very profuse. I chopped it down last year to get shorter, no luck, still tall & weedy. Do you think they prefer being planted out to being in tubs? I'm thinking of getting rid of it.

Yes, Beech Park, flowers and flowers, absolutely splendid, thank you. Plum Jerkin has doubled in size, but no sign of any flowers, and is almost next to BP.
Have you ever grown from seed? Do you think my seedlings will flower next year? I have put the seedlings in the garden, providing slugs don't eat, they develop quicker than in pots.

Oh good, that Dan has answered my query, but I think it will be next year before I see flowers. Also that slugs have not bothered your plants.
