I might have posted this before.. (Pereskia grandifolia (Rose Cactus) variegated.)

Its a variegated Barbados Cherry (Pereskia) a primitive cacti. It has in the past shown beautiful flowers. Yet in2013's cold I almost lost it..died down to the roots.
This year,I gave it extra help,a hot spot, and fertilizer..it seemed to really respond to fish emulsion.

I had some...and I killed them. I think too much water. There's a giant one at the San Diego Zoo...it's a tree. It has got the largest trunk of any I've ever seen. I think it's 30' tall. I've posted photos on GoY.

Is that the all green? I think the variegated stays at largest shrubby in even tropical climates. UC Berkeley has the all green..big scrambling shrub.

I think it is. I have to look at the pic. again.

I've seen the large one at U.C Berkeley Botanical Gardens. I remember it froze to the ground in Dec. 1990 (The Big Freeze!). It had grown about 10 ft tall by mid-summer.
