New Orchid

New Orchid (Phalaenopsis orchid)

I had mentioned to my mum on passing that a yellow Phalaenopsis would finish off my little Orchid collection nicely. When I came back from holiday recently, this little gem was waiting for me! It's a lovely lemon yellow with pink freckles - very nice - thanks mum!

This is so similar to the one I've just bought, is yours a "Sleeved Orchid" as well?, do you know what care they need, the label on ours didnt say a lot!
Beautiful flower and nice pic Sid!

I have these beauties too...what a great Mom you have! the script I got with mine suggested an east, west, or shaded south window...temps around comfortable room temp during the day and a minimum of 15C (60F) during the night. Let the bark mix get fairly dry before watering...douse the pot well and let drain, don't let it sit with soaking roots! and that's all there is to it... I buy orchid food and feed as directed on the package...simple, right? I predict you will find cause to add to your collection, Sid....they are addictive!

Indy - sorry - I missed your comment somehow in October!

I don't know what a sleeved orchid is. Mine does not appear to have arms and I would therefore think it does not have any need for sleeves or indeed a wrist watch. However, should it take to wearing anything other than a T-shirt, I will be sure to let you know. ;-)

As far as I know it 's a phalaenopsis and you look after it just as Lori says.

Lori - I'm sure you're right - this is unlikely to be the last one! lol
