Root Beer plant.

This has leaves that have a flavor of rootbeer and in Mexico it is used like banana or Ti leaves,to wrap food for cooking . I haven't tried it myself. Related to black Pepper plant.

I used to have one. I see them here, also. They're pretty tropical. They do come back from cold there very fast, though. It does love a lot of water.

It would do well at the edge of a pond...but thrives on less also. I've seen them used as a hedge near some rental cottages in town. about 3-4'.
Mine was fine until a gopher got it. I even managed to re root it in a cup of water after finding it root less. THEN,In a hot summer week,I didn't notice the cats had knocked the cup over. That did it in.

This plant grows super fast and spreads like wild fire. It's a beautiful plant!

It is fast and when watered enough with some part shade..its a lush tropical look.

An interesting plant Stan so who climbs the ladder when needed for the food to be wrapped.
