Plumeria 'Celadine' - Celadine Plumeria

Plumeria 'Celadine' - Celadine Plumeria (Plumeria 'Celadine' - Celadine Plumeria)

This tree used to have a beautiful shape...however, it was blocking the walkway to the house. Photo taken 3 blocks from my house on August 4, 2010.

Meanie:

It has an odd shape though.

Odd shape or not, that would be good going with our climate! Even kept indoors, we would struggle to get enough light over the winter months for it I think.

Meanie:

Plumeria trees don't need any sun nor water during Winter. Plumeria trees go dormant in January when they loose all their leaves.

Many people in colder areas of the U.S. grow Plumeria trees in their garden during Summer...then either remove the trees from the ground take all the leaves off in Fall and store them in a cool basement or attic or non- freezing location until Spring...then replant them.

That's interesting - I'd always assumed that a healthy specimen would require more specialist treatment.
Thanks!

Meanie:

Some varieties are a little more temperamental, but overall they're pretty tough. (although not to freezing temps). I wouldn't recommend Plumeria obtusa 'Singapore' -- as they are evergreen and need bright light during Winter and are extremely sensitive to cool or cold weather. (it really doesn't like low temps below 50F/ 10C and would be happier if temps never went below 60F/ 16C.)

Thanks. A bit of research needed then.
