This flower spike just appeared about three weeks ago and now it's in full bloom with the hot weather we've been having. Photo taken Oct. 31, 2012.

How long do the flowers last? Mine is taking for ever to bloom!! Probably not hot enough for it now....

The flowers last only a few days.
Yes, when flower spikes develop in late Fall it can take a long time for them to bloom, if it's not hot and sunny with long day lengths.

I almost planted one of mine in the garden yesterday.....I'm going to wait for spring though, give it time to adjust to the garden. I was soooooo tempted!
