About 4 years ago I decided to use low growing perennials with a cottage garden flavour to make the front approach to the house more attractive. Last Autumn I lifted the dwarf daffodils which had multiplied and replanted them in the same bed between the other established plants. The primulas were the first to give colour this Spring, followed by the dwarf daffodils. The forget-me-nots are survivors from the original sowing of annuals and self seed prolifically every year, giving a pinky-blue background to spring yellows. It is an annual reminder of the school where I spent many happy years teaching, the school colours were blue with a dash of yellow.
