If the flowers of this plant are not faring well, what do you think are the most likely causes, please ? I've had various suggestions of the culprit, but would be interested in your opinion, please... would ants do damage ? Thanks.

I don't think ants would do it but I've never had a problem with ants here, they are quite rare here. The usual culprit for damaged flowers is earwigs but it would be too early for them.
My guess would be mice or birds. Both will damage flowers but if it is bird damage there is usually some parts of the flower stewn about.
Maybe others may have some idea.

I have no idea what would cause damage to primula denticulata, i find the white ones in my garden are bulking up nicely, much better than the dark pink and blue ones....
