Peach Tree

what plant is this dawn?

Sorry Sandra, I thought I had titled the photo - just gone back to edit it. Its a peach tree, planted on a south facing wall.

how lovely,, will you get fruit,

The cream, furry things are the fruit Sandra. I can't believe it!

Wow.....my nectarine is still covered in blossom......yours must be really well sheltered Dawn.

Hiii Maureen, well I can't believe it cos its always cold here and I told John it would never have fruit, lol. He said the Romans grew them outdoors when they were here, Mmmmm bit warmer then I suspect. It grows up the garage wall and is south facing and protected by an evergreen honeysuckle to one side. It has peach leaf curl though - what do I need Maureen?? I can't remember what you said.

They look exactly like mine Dawn .. LOL ... I have started to thin mine out a bit , not to much as some will fall off naturally .......

Amy: Does yours have fruit every year? So do you remove them so as to have one every few inches, if you know what I mean.

Yes Dawn they need to be about 4/6" apart .. it seems such a shame to take healthy ones off but if you didn,t they would take all the goodness from each other ...
We have peaches each year , more some years than others , and I have to say I have never tasted one so good from a shop , they are so sweet and juicy , delicious ....
Ours are outside in a purpose built frame against a wall , they must have a canopy over the top to prevent them from getting peach leaf curl .. :o)

Ours has a bit of peach leaf curl :-( so need to get that sorted.

You must take off the leaves affected Dawn , put them straight in a carrier bag and dispose of them , if not the leaves fall to the ground and infect the soil for another year ,

Thanks Amy - I've told John the tree needs an umbrella, lol. I've been at work today so first thing tomorrow I'll be up there with my carrier bag, disposing of the nasty leaves.
