Pyracantha 'Golden Sun'

Found the label in the undergrowth at the base of the plant. Thought it was lost in the long distant past. Flowering in June

they are more of an orange colour really but they dont last for long as the birds strip them very quickly.

Aye used to have a hedge running the length of house we lived in one real hard winter the whole thing stripped by fieldfares and redwings in a couple of days.

we had a waxwing feeding on it last year as well as fieldfares. today we had a great spotted woodpecker on the nuts today. first one for months. so excited but couldnt find the camera.

So jealous Waxwings oh how lovely what beautiful birds ..our woodpecker returned last week now visiting 3 to 4 times a day sure he /she will return our peanut feeder getting well and truly hammered.

we ofetn get flocks of waxwings through in the winter feeding in the hedgerows. why we got one on its own , not sure why but it bimbled about for about 20 mins befor flitting off. they are gorgeous.
