According to a top UK rhodo nursery owner, there are now varieties with even darker flowers available. He also says this one is prone to mildew although I've never found it a problem. I do find some of the leaves turning yellow from time to time and need to be removed to keep the plant looking at its best. I also keep it well fed as it tends to sulk if it goes hungry

My mind can only come up with pink or white when it comes to rhododendrons. This one stretches my imagination - a very good thing. lol
