This is lovely and unusual...

I had a fantastic shrub of this but last year it suddenly died to the ground. I cut it back to the base and it is beginning to sprout again. Any experience of this, Andrew?

Vincent - I had a similar problem with a lrage, overgrown one of these. I think it possibly needs regular pruning rather than being left to its own devices

Thanks Andrew, I will see how it comes on now. because of it's neighbours, it is now a bit in the shade, so I hope it will succeed (or I will just have to but another)
