Spathodea campanulata - African Tulip Tree

This little African Tulip tree is still blooming. It first started blooming in May. You can see the monsoonal moisture in the background...today it stayed mostly east of us. Photo taken Oct. 1, 2010.

The unusual weather here has been making many plants/trees bloom out of season also. I can list dozens of trees/plants that are blooming now that I've never seen blooming this time of year. It's definitely been an educating observation and experience.

Mine still has flowers on it ... it seemed to have a second flowering after all the rain during our Winter. I've never seen it blooming this late in the year here.
