My tropical African Tulip tree is flowering and full of buds. I cut this tree way back a few months ago when it was semi-deciduous. It's now coming back very strongly over the last month-and-a-half. It has so many new buds, it's amazing! This is one of my favorite trees and I've made several cutting-grown plants from this tree over the years. Photo taken Nov. 7, 2017.

No, it doesn't have any seed pods.
It's been its spot since 2011. It's been very happy in it's location. It flowered for almost 4 years without stopping, which is very unusual for an African Tulip tree.
The weather has been perfect here (especially after the extreme heat wave from a little over a week ago, when temps were 105ºF (40.6ºC) and hotter. The highs are now around 75ºF (24ºC) and morning lows around 60ºF (16ºC).

Looks a beauty Andy that heat wave has rewarded you.

The buds were developing before the heat wave. :>))
Actually, this tree doesn't like those types of heat waves, it usually will burn the flowers up.

Yes I can imagine they would burn our Tulip trees Magnolias flower in spring.

If it had been really hot with lots of humidity, like in summer. It would love it!

Yes as plants take most of moisture through their leaves.

Definitely. The very dry air we get with heat waves this time of year is really horrible for plants. It dries the leaves.

That is a shame you need a sauna for them lol

Well, it is native to equatorial Africa. That's a very hot and humid place.
The weather we've been getting here is so perfect for African Tulip trees...highs around 77ºF (25ºC) and morning lows in the low 60's (16ºC). It's perfect for me, also! LOL! :>))
There's a much larger African Tulip tree around the corner from me. It's in full bloom...and I pass by it when I come home from work.
