Noticed this shrub was in flower today

I'd describe this flower as a cross between a hazel and a wisteria. Despite the appearance, it does not blow around because it hangs down rigidly.
This variety has variegated foliage and is very slow growing; it is six years old and has barely made three feet. I was told the way to get it going is to grow it in a pot, overwintering it under cover, until it is fighting to get out and then plant it in a shetered position. It has been out of the pot for two years now

I took a photo of mine today Andrew , the first time I saw one it was at least 7ft tall and looked magnificent , I put my name on a waiting list for that year, I have had mine for about 5yrs now ,,it,s hardly 3ft tall .
I love it it looks so delicate , I think it,s to late to do all those things to make it grow Andrew , I wouldn,t want to disturb it now :o)

Attractive shrub.

If you've got it this far Amy, keep doing what you're doing. The suggestion was that young plants would be vulnerable to harsh winters but if it's just survived what we've had, it must be tough
