Yes same here, I potted up lots last year, so many now I just dig them up, when the top got frosted last year it seemed to make it worse!

Now isn't that interesting....it looks amazing....firstly, I can't believe that this was taken almost exactly a year ago, as I look out on to the grey and frozen earth and watch the sleet coming down!!...but isn't that amazing, how it is growing from the top like a tree.....I am thinking about where I am going to site mine....and if it grows, it will make a great screening plant to the neighbours on the sunny side! :)) hmmm....goooooood! :)

No shoots this year yet v.cold here, it has shot from the top every year except from after the hard winter 2 years ago when I had to cut it back to around 2/3 and new growth. Last year it reached 8-9ft hopefully it will shoot from the top this year and carry on up :o)
