Thanks Lemondog!
Got one more Tricyrtis species in bud and then that's it for this year. Of the fifteen or so species/cultivars that I have just one has failed to bloom.

It looks terrific!

It was!

Why do you say: "it was!"
26 Oct, 2013
Just the one flower.................

Does it grow outside?
Maybe it needs some fertilizer?
26 Oct, 2013
T'was just a small root cutting.
26 Oct, 2013
I guess it just needs to get established.

I don't hold out too much hope...............

That's too bad! :>(
Did you get affected by "Stormagedon" which hit the U.K.? I saw the reports on the news today. It looked like a hurricane hit the country.
28 Oct, 2013
Not really - just lots of leaf debris from the deciduous trees around here. No damage. My house is tall though, and was in line with the storm so it provided a good wind break.
28 Oct, 2013
That's good news. So you didn't get the really strong winds and rain, right?
29 Oct, 2013
No more than 35/40mph gusts apparently. Even my Lobelia tupa and the Acanthus (all 2 metres plus) are still upright.
Boy did it rain though - not what we need as the first frost approach really..............
29 Oct, 2013
Those are strong winds; however, not major damaging winds, though (luckily).
The rain is good for the plants...but not if it's flooding.
You're expecting your first frost tonight?
29 Oct, 2013
Cold and wet? Never good!
29 Oct, 2013
It's been a very chilly 68ºF (20ºC) here in San Diego over the last 3 days, also. We've even had some rain the last few days (which is a little unusual for this early in the season) however, we need the rain so badly.
It's back to somewhat warm 83ºF (28ºC) weather by Friday - Sunday.

What else?
See who else is growing Tricyrtis hirta (Toad Lily).
See who else has plants in genus Tricyrtis.
