Well I`m pleased to report that everyone was right my Fuchsia`s have started to show. Thanks to all for your positive comments.
Dawnsaunt, Im lifting those Hostas this year to divide. so Gunnera will have more room to grow.
Had a trip to the lakes to see friend earlier this month and she has a huge gardenwith a mound at the bottom, used to be a quarry and this was the “spill”
As I wanted some ferns she allowed me to help myself as a lot of it needs cleering to make way for a path to the top. I managed about 2sqmts and was done in. it so rocky and damp. I salvaged a couple of clumps to take home and divide….
As I mentioned, my first attemt at standards didnt do to well but they recovered and have blossomed. Not your standard shape but hey my first attempt, perhaphs next year!!!!!!
So this afternoon I popped into a local nursery to see what they had in. I had a chat with the lady who is in charge of cuttings (yes they still do all there own work)
I was after a fuchsia “Blacky” that I had seen early in the season but was not ready. She had a couple left, Id left it a bit late. So we got chatting and eventually I came away with two freebies.
Lovely colour hope I have time to take some cuttings.

That fuchsia is lovely, and the standards in the border too. I liked your friend's garden. It looked interesting.
