I am retired and live on the Greek island of Paros. We grow beans, tomatoes etc and of course melons of many varieties but suffer increasingly long draughts thru the summer months. It became obvious that we can only successfully grow plants that are draught tolerant otherwise we use up our valuable water supplies too quickly. It will always amaze me that onions,melons and some tomatoes can be grown totally without any water in dry and apparently dusty soil. I was interested in growing some Rhodiola plants from seed but have now discovered that they originate from Siberia which has a climate very different from here!
I would be interested to know whether seed is available and if anyone has experience of this plant in Meditteranean conditions ?
