PROUD AS PUNCH

Hi everyone, do you know I can’t believe what I have achieved in such a short time. Last friday I pulled the first of my spuds and what a great crop they are, they are desire red spuds and we will be having them sometime this week for dinner.
As well as the spuds my iceberg lettuce are nearly ready for cropping and I’m so glad because I grew these from seed. Six months ago I had no interest at all but, thanks to my wife I am now enjoying growing veg so much.
Can I again thank you all for your supporting comments and the warm welcome you have given me.

Well done, it is lovely to grow your own. I only have a small patch for veg but grow plenty of beans and salad crops.

Thanks very much for the comments, I've just had a look at my cabbages and cauliflowers and they are getting rather big and up to now no little nasties attacking them, what I did was to cover them with protective netting and it seems to have done the trick.
For now what I've done it to grow my beetroots and carrots under cover and they've come on very nicely, I will probably finish them off outside when mr sunshine decides to come back. I will put some more piccys on when they are ready.

cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!
