Sometimes they pick you. When you see your puppy, you'll know that's the one for you.

Its good to see you back again Gudia, you were missed. Great to hear you are doing well and are happy. l
Labradors are grand dogs - whether you choose a male or a female you're sure to fall in love with it - and please show us a photo!

I would suggest that you ask this of a good veternarian. Also inquire of the care this dog requires to keep it in the best of health and mental state and the expenses involved.

I know labs love water, so if you are near the ocean or lake, they love to dive in.

I found this thread for you Gudia - hope it will help you decide.

Also remember that females come into season and will need to be kept away from other dogs at those times, or sprayed with an anti mate spray if you don't want puppies.

We had a male chocolate lab , fantastic dog wonderful temperament wouldn't hurt a fly , do get insurance though or put a little aside each month, as we did, just in case, our poor boy had a lot of health problems and some big vet bills.
Bathgate oh yes they love water and shake all over you when they come out remember that well lol.

Yes, poor breeding has included many ailments into many dogs and that's why I mentioned consulting with a vet. Another factor to consider is time. Will you have the time to care for this dog and it's needs every day of its life. When it has to go out to do its business are you ready and willing to take it out on a leash in all sorts of bad weather? Are you willing to clean up after it with a puppy bag and dispose of it properly?
Will you be leaving it alone for long periods of time without company? Are you aware that all dogs have human like feelings. The thing is that I have been seeing too many dogs placed in rescue societies or abandoned because their owners did not anticipate these problems and situations so it's not just a matter of deciding what sex of dog to get. Specifically this puppy will grow to be a big strong dog that was bred for hunting purposes. It needs a lot of daily execercise, it will shed a lot of hair and you also have to consider the home you will give it. Do you live in a house with property or an apartment? These dogs don't do too well in small living conditions.

dear Loosestrife2
i will answer all of your question pratically.!
well i am 19 years old , i live with my dad n elder brother.!
my mother expired when i was 11.!
Please don't feel pitty on me.!
because life is all neutral now.!
well why i need a puppy?
reasons are .!
i stay at my home all day , i go college (in evening time)
when i go college there is my dad at home,.
i go college aroound 5 of eve to 9.
i come back n then stay all time home,!
i stay alone all day,. and i know dad would love dog as he comes back from work,. dog won't be alone anytime,.
i live in a very good society , there are 2 labrador and 3 pomarian, 2 german shephard in our society..!
neighbours are even cooperative.!
everything can change if a new born baby comes at home,.
so do everything do get change as dog comes home.!
n i am done walking alone down town.!
so thats why i think puppy would be a great company.!
and by company i mean, both side cooperative.!
i love german shephard alot, but labrador is family pet.
and my dad n brother loves labrador alot, so this is the reason why i wanna buy a labrador puppy.
i have big enough home.!
i got time for to my puppy on walk.
or taking his care.,i don't mind cleaning his shit,.
dear its not the first time cleaning shit.
i remember those days when i and my brother used to help stray dogs,. keeping them in our own home,
its okay,.!
i am fully ready,. i can say you that i can/will love my dog more then i did loved my ex.!
lol.!

Looks like your puppy will have a very happy home:) if you go to my photos section you will see one of mine, Sadie is her name. I rescued her and her back legs were paralized from a broken back. I was able to get her one of the best veterinary surgeons and Sadie can now walk again. She is a very brave Pomeranian.

Welcome back Gudia, its good to hear from you again and especially to hear that you are happy and that all is well with you, I hope your father and brother are also well, you will have to give us an update with photos of your garden.
Labradors make wonderful pets, very loving and loyal, can be destructive during the puppy stage but easy to train if you are patient enough to teach them, they actually like to learn, we have a male, never had a female but do know other members who do, so I know someone will also tell you.....
