There is always a space near the pump in our pond that stays thawed so the birds are ok here Terra.

Brrrrrrrr is right! It was -6.5C here on top of the Chilterns yesterday morning, and only -5.5C in the centre of High Wycombe yet the Aylesbury Vale was basking in -3C. However, the sun was up making the countryside looked glorious in its frosty coat.
We have had lots of new visitors to the bird feeders this week, bless them I am having to top up daily and keeping their water ice free is quite a challenge.
