I have condsiderd one of these but never heard good results, they dont work in winter and only go for so many hours.

Last year I bought a small cheap one from ebay...it only worked when the sun was shineing as it had no back-up battery, apparently the more expensive ones do, so if you do decide to buy one buy one with a back-up battery....a bit more expensive but worth the extra money I should think.

I had two of these (the second one was a replacement for the first one). Paid £40 for the first one and I found both hardly worked even in the brightest sunshine before packing up altogether. This was a few years ago and things may have changed by now if you pay much more?

i do have some solar powered lights and it works for them. the first time i installed solar lights it was in and amongst plants, so did not work, once in the open they were fine. you may well have to charge the battery up first. hope that helps, dave
