About me
I have a challenging garden in North West Sutherland, Scotland, battered by wind and rain for much of the time, and very cold in winter.
Over a 16-year period, I have planted over 200 trees, among which are some non-native species, which I have grown as a challenge.
I also have 2 olive trees, a fig tree, 2 palm trees and an avocado tree in a greenhouse. After 16 years one of the olive trees has now borne fruit, and the fig has produced a few ripe figs this year. However, I'm not hopeful of ever having a large production, but the mere sight of fruit on the trees is a joy.
My other great love are roses, and they also appear to do reasonably well, despite the climate and soil type.
I'm now looking for seeds of a sorbus domestica (Service tree) to plant.
