Lavender pest

Today I found about 10 strange shiney metalic beetles on my lavender run down the path.
Intrigued I looked them up and found them to be Rosemary Beetle. They must be destroyed (shame) as they do look very attractive but apparently are the only lavender pest that is a real threat to the plant.
Having removed them I am so glad I looked on the internet to identify them. I must now be vigilant and safeguard the lavender run. These beetles came from Afirca about 6 years ago and lavender farmers are on the look out for them. Keep an eye out for these little creatures.

Good job you found them before they did any damage.
