My garden isn't 'my sort of garden' despite the fact that I designed it.

I really like an enclosed garden, stuffed full of plants with curvy lines and pathways that twist and turn, leading to secret places.

What I've got is plain and simple with straight lines. The idea was to create something easy to manage for when I get older.

We have about one-quarter acre and the bottom one-third is a 'Wild Garden' which my husband manages. He also mows lawns.

Recently, I had a raised border built along one side (with railway sleepers) making this a joy to manage compared with kneeling down to weed. Also plants and shrubs can over hang naturally. I really like concrete, so I had a wide path built, down the other side of the garden, so that the shrubs and plants can grow forward on to this.

I like Buddleias, Montbretia and Japanese Anemones.
