3 years in first house with a garden (lived in flats before) and had 2 children in that time so not much time for gardening! We have transformed what was basically a lawn and lots of dark stained fence with new beds and lots (and lots - sorry bank manager) of plants. Lots purchased and lots donated by family.
Have managed to grow tomatos and runner beans and just harvested first 2 quince! Not bad with a husband who developed an allergy to gardening shortly after we moved in!
Very lucky that we planted lots in spring 2007 and had a dreadfully wet summer, so despite my neglect/ lack of time, most seem to have survived!
Just felled horrible half dead leilandii at the bottom of the garden so next challenge to try and grow something else there.
The children love being in the garden and my daughter has had a passion for eating tomatos ever since she picked her first from a pot on our patio aged 18 months.
