how my garden grows.

my garlic has grown i have shoots.
i wasn’t expecting anything this soon and thought that most wouldn’t grow at all as i planted them too deep but this wasn’t a problem they are right at the bottom of a layered pot with loads of spring blubs.
how happy has this made me very.
my ginger is growing as well – both the garlic and the ginger were brought from the supermarket food section – the ginger was supposed to be jam but started to grown in the kitchen so i planted it – i have no idea how ginger grows or what will happen in the process.
my brussels seem to be doing well now the chooks can’t get to them and eat all the leaves.
i have also managed to dig over the other side of the veg patch – it was hard work the thistle roots had to be dug by the hubby who can manage to get the fork all the way into the soil, i can only get about three inches down half has gone to lovely soil and the other half is horrible we will have to see how it goes.
a good point is that the ground is full of worms and hubby has two weeks off the help digging out the massive new bed i have planned to house the million akkium blubs i have been collecting.

I do not know if this is the same in UK, but in my neck of the woods we wait for the first frost to plant garlic. Best to get it from a nursery etc. but would be interested to see how it goes. I like the purple Russian garlic, does well here on the coast. The Ginger might be dicey, but hey why not, try & keep it in your green house as it is a tropical plant. Fun to grow. Good luck.
