I know we have seen enough snow photo,s but my daughter as just sent me these photo,s the visitor was a pheasant who game through the fence behind her garden which is a farmers field , she got busy with her camera which you might think oh ok ! but she lives across the road from me but up a little way , now I have lived in this town for 70 year,s and have never seen a pheasant in this area or surrounding parts ,so we don’t know how he came to be here was he looking for food or what .i have put on her photo,s and some of Dan the dog catching snowballs in the field behind her house , so wonder if anyone could guess how the visitor turned up ,she said he flew on to her wooden fence and flew off towards my direction (thinking mam will feed you lol ) then two days later as she was driving pass he was walking down our road so she is quite concerned for him .

Dan seems to be enjoyong himself :o)
It must be strange to see a bird like that in your garden. I've seen them around here but never in my garden ...

Lovely dog.
Pheasants are bred at Boughton Park (Duke of Buccleuch's patch) near here, for the November shoot. They are set free in October, run all over local roads as take a day or two to realise cars are dangerous. Then settle into the woods. After the shoot some escape, so we get them all year round from time to time on allotment fields.
Open field gardening is not the easy hobby people thing it is. The Committee have to pay a man to shoot them.
