Spectacular poppies! Do you mow your "wild bit" once a year?

Steragram it's just a sort of banking that we made when we removed a poor lawn and put down gravel we turned over strips of turf to make and shape a banking let it settle along side the gravel then eventually we covered it with any sort of ground cover plants the grass still comes through but it looks lovely swaying in the wind I do cut it back from time to time ,I think I saw Beth Chatto making turf rolls on a program once ...

Your garden is stunning. The view to die for. I imagine being at the top of a hill will mean the wind can be a problem but you would never think so looking at these photos.

Yes Scotsgran the wind does cause a bit of havoc on the top of the road where I live so the plants have to be hardy but it all added to the fun of gardening :-)
