After all the excitement of my favorite sport Rugby ! Wales did have a good win …I have just watched the recording of gardeners world it clashed with the Wales game . How delightful was Beth Chatto when she touched Carol Klein’s cheek ! and her motto right plant right place is to me the only way to garden .

Lol Kidsgran, I learned that the hard way. Clematis montana refused to grow in the suggested conditions in several places before I eventually got it to grow in the most exposed place in the garden. I lost each plant and I only did not give up because it seemed ridiculous that I could not succeed with a plant that normally grows very well. When OH fell for Garrya elliptica 'James Roof' it took seven plants before I found a spot where it was happy to thrive. If at first you don't succeed and all that -----
