Sunday run, northern Georgia

I decided to take my camera with me today on my morning run, maybe take some pictures of wildflowers and, hopefully, the bobcats I’ve been seeing (they didn’t show up).
I wish I had some better photos – we actually do have beautiful scenery and views here, but everything is heavily wooded and not easy to see from the road.
Wild carrot
Roadside flowers
I’m not sure what this is
Vulture enjoying a snack
Roadside scenes
Spreading hydrangea
Black eyed susans
Daylily
Turtle in the road…oh no!
Safely to the other side – eastern box turtle
Finally home, to a rest on my favorite bench

I've helped 4 turtles cross the road today - 2 box turtles and 2 musk turtles. It's an active day for them, for some reason! I was too late to save several others. They didn't survive encounters with cars.

Funny I saved a box turtle earlier today, your scenery looks a lot like mine, except I see more horses. We're down by Calaway Gardens. Lots open space.

Welcome to GoY, lauram. :-) You will no doubt find that it's very addictive!
I think what you call a turtle we, in the UK, at least, would call a tortoise. For us turtles are water creatures whereas tortoises are land animals. LOL!
I liked your blog & it's interesting to see the different species of plants you have growing in the wild. I guessed the Hydrangea before I saw your caption! The Day Lily looks lovely.

Wonderful pictures! Fancy a turtle in the road! Wouldn't mind sharing that bench with you and just look at this different scenery to what I am used to.
