Rare plant prog tonight 2nd July

There’s a programme tonight (2nd July) for gardeners who like more exotic plants:

At last – a Gardeners’ World programme worth watching (and recording)!
The Radio Times lists a Special hour long edition at 9 – 10pm on BBC2 Friday 2nd July called “Gardening on the Edge” (which will already sound familiar to readers of a certain book of the same name).

Toby Buckland goes on a “coastal odyssey” to visit some of his favourite UK gardens including Headland, Minack Theatre, Lamorran House, Trengwainton, Dungeness and Yewbarrow. And discovers along the way how these awe-inspiring plots are at the forefront of horticulture.

Ah well - some were shown better than others. It would have been better (especially at Lamorran House and Trengwainton) to have shown MORE plants and less design (walls, statues and a sloped bed) and talked more about plants other than palms and tree ferns.
At least it showed more plants than Monty Don's "Around the World in 80 Gardens" which seemed to be 95% design and 5% talking about the actual plants.....
Probably another few years until the next semi-interesting planty programme, now.
Unless some people have been inspired by Lamorran House and start to buy unusual exciting/tender plants....
