Front garden:- Blank Canvas prepared.

We now have a tidy blank canvas of a front garden. It’s tidied and weeded regularly come rain or shine. My Mrs and I have one or two ideas for development in our heads, the only problem is our ideas conflict. I want busy and blooming and my better half wants neat and formal.

Me too, I like busy and blooming - but I'm not averse to the odd clipped box boule thrown into the mix for a bit of formality...lol
I'm sure that you'll find a great compromise.
Welcome to GoY! :)

Welcome to Goy Martyn, I`m afraid I also go for very busy, lol, its ok here as the garden is my hobby and I get to decide, also the only person who works in it, hubby doesn`t mind at all, never has liked gardening..
How big is the back, perhaps you can have his and hers or failing that, have fun arguing on what goes where, just enjoy it, that the main thing...

Hi and welcome from me also. For your style of house I thought the 'English cottage garden' would look good. But can be expensive and takes time to establish and get it right. You might want to look at my latest blog, as GW mag are offering 36 perennial plants for free just P&P.

Welcome to GOY Martyn & Joy.
Your front garden is very neat at the moment so you could just add large pots full of blooms, then you would both be happy :-)
