About me

I'd say I'm a novice gardener. I started in 2001 when we bought our first house. It was a new-build so the back garden was just mud with a few roughly-laid slabs masquerading as a patio! So we did the whole lot from scratch.

I like to try and grow as many things as possible from seeds or my own cuttings. My garden isn't very big but with 2 small children and another on the way it's big enough for me to manage with the little time that I have.

When we first moved in to our current house about 2 1/2 years ago the garden was mostly grass with some really overgrown creepers and climbers up the sides. We removed all the plants, cut out new beds and pretty much started from again. (If you're interested you can read about it in my blog.) So all my plants are very young at the moment, but it makes it fun to see how it develops each year. It's currently all flowers, shrubs and herbs but I'm going to try and grow some peas, beans and tomatoes this year.
