Woof!

woof….WOOf….I half open my sleepy eye and see the clock says 5:02 a.m….Sammy is face to face with me at the side of the bed…. woof…ugh…
I get myself out of bed and Sammy begins to dash around the house on the bed..it the other bedroom on the bed and sniffing at the window..
In my sleepy inside voice I curse the darn cat as he (Mac) will be on the other side of the window teasing the dog.
As I open the door to let Sammy out to refresh himself, I think…put him on the chain. Normally he runs free on the property and comes back after doing what dogs do best in the garden.
He is quite perky for 5 a.m. and as the door opens in scoots Mac..But, something else is a miss….activity on the lawn catches my attention and at first I think it is stray dog. Lo and behold a fox…beautiful in all its glory. Sammy is barking like a fool now…and champing at the bit to get loose…..
We share a glance and away this beautiful graceful creature flees.

Foxes are beautiful creatures aren't they. I would have loved to see it.
Good job you put your dog on the chain that morning.

Seems as though your garden area will need some fencing.
Its not a good idea to let a dog run around over your precious plants.

No wonder he was excited Moira, I would not have been pleased if my dog woke me up at that time of the morning...
