New residents on the patio!

We have some new Finches that are building nests in unusual places on my patio. Last year they built a nest in one of my hanging baskets and we got to see the fledglings fly from the nest for the first time. It was awesome!
They learned to fly in the first 5 feet after the “momma bird” booted them out of the nest.
Now we have some Finch males starting to build nests in a few unusual places. I have an old bird-house lying on my storage rack on the patio and there is new “nest material” inside it! Here’s a photo:
I’m just going to leave it alone and see what happens…
There is also another nest at the base of my potted “Croton Petra” that looks to be more developed pictured here:
I’ll just leave that one alone also because of the great organic material that the birds will be adding to my potted plant. ;-)
Here’s another photo of the nest inside the Croton’s pot:
It’ll be interesting to see if we actually get some “apartment dwellers” this year!
Gotta love it! The birds are so cool to watch.. :-)
