Results from an old tree experiment!

A long time ago, I blogged about a soil A-B test on two similar trees growing in different soil media.. One was planted in Scotts potting soil and the other was planted in rich organically prepared soil. The little “scotts tree” took a turn for the worst and I will never forget this comment from “Mookins”..

“please please re-pot the not organic one, he looks so sad”
Well Mookins, you will be happy to know that the struggling little tree from the experiment has now become the best of my potted trees and is thriving like crazy! Here’s what the little guy looks like today:
The little guy has grown an additional 14 inches and is one happy camper!
My wife and I have been trying to decide where to plant it in the backyard because it is the healthiest potted tree that I have and needs to be in the native soil so its’ roots can spread out and grow.
I would have never thought that the “runt” would turn out to be my best tree!
Gotta love the miracle of organic growing!
