I have a small family garden in West London, it was quite pretty once but having a 2 year old and 4 year old - both boys, its taken a bit of a battering recently. The garden has become their place for construction adventures and muddy fun. I like the fact they love it out there and I don't really mind them making a mess, I've just realised I need to adapt things and plant some more sturdy shrubs. No more Verbena bonariensis for the time being, even my Lavender has had to surrender!

I think this year I might add a couple more roses.....if I can sneak them in behind some shrubs they might stand a chance. At least then if the stems get broken I can cut them and bring them inside!
