Positives - more space than I could possibly garden. 1/4 acre veg patch and 1/2 acre garden. Two acre paddock and two horses create large volume of compost.
Negatives - solid clay. Halfway up a hill and still waterlogged. Built pond by just digging a hole. Favourite gardening implement a rented 1/2 ton digger (very good for creating raised beds and mixing in aforsaid compost).
Self imposed handicaps include Guinea fowl that test the less robust plants. Not to mention the dogs. Occasional raids by deer (ate most of the strawberries including the plants) pheasants etc
