Finally got back into the garden after a major indoor catastrophe

around Christmas time last year, the hot water pipe under my kitchen sink sprung a leak, and before i discovered it (i’m not in the habit of checking under the sink for anything, never mind a leak!) it had saturated all the floors on one side off my trailer home. All the floors slant here, and the water slowly made its’ way under the top flooring, so i didn’t see any wet floors, and ruined the floors in the kitchen, hall, the closet that houses the furnace, small bedroom, bathroom and the large bedroom at the rear of my home..the emergency crew arrived, the insurance company was involved, and i have to say they were very quick with the money, and work got underway within hours..plumbing was corrected, huge fans installed along with massive dehumidifiers, and they were turned on full blast for two weeks..this involved some pretty tricky wheelchair driving on my part..fortunately i was able to shut the animals safely in the room i keep my doll collection in..then the workers came in and ripped up all the floors, laid down sub floors, then disappeared..for weeks…all this time, everything that was in those rooms had to be moved into my one remaining room on the lower level, leaving only a small space to get to the front door, and another to get into the doll room..then they ripped out all my kitchen cupboards..it was definitely a construction site.but i finally got all new floors and kitchen..after 8 months!..i’m glad i didn’t know in advance how long it was going to take..shortly after they finally left, i came down with a heavy chest infection..i’ve had it now for 3 months, & i’m sure it was caused by all the moist air blowing around with those massive fans, & then all that construction dust..this is my long explanation to explain my absence this summer…however, i did manage to do a bit of work in the courtyard with Patrick’s help, and took some pix to share with you..

It's amazing the amount of dust involved in renos. Get yourself an ionizer. It will help with the bronchitis. The pups seem to enjoy the patio! Good to have you back, Pat. I have to ask...how did the lilacs withstand shipment?
