Rose garden

Granddaughter and I went into the rose garden at the park yesterday. It looks lovely so I took a few photos.

This last rose was even bluer than in the photo.

We had a fragrant ten minutes before returning to the most important place, and the raison d’etre of the visit…

Thank you, Stera, Pam and Barbara. We've not had the heavy rain that a lot of people have experienced and the roses look good, although the first flush is beginning to finish now.

We certainly have fun together. Her little brother is due in ten days, so lots more excitement on the horizon!

With the star of the show of course , the pretty little rose on the last photo.
They are well tended Rose beds, it seems ...not such a common sight in public spaces these days.
The blue rose (Rhapsody in Blue , maybe?) is a stunner.

Thanks Barbara - I shall!

Thank you, Paul. The rose garden is beautifully maintained, isn't it? That wasn't the case for many years, until a general refurbishment a few years ago. I am very happy to see it like this. I don't know what the variety of the blue rose is. I looked at the information boards, but couldn't find an obvious name for a blue rose. It certainly is a stunner though - I shouldn't have said I am especially keen on the idea of a blue rose, but I was very struck by this one. It's lovely to see roses planted en masse, as well.
