Retired on South Coast and about 100 yards from the Beach. So as you can imaging with strong sea breezes and salt in the air some plants can have a pretty hard time. My back garden is about 36 feet long and is a matter of trial and error with emphasis on the error. As a small garden it is just right for its true function, that of sitting out on a sunny day with a glass of wine and reading a good book.
I am currently repainting the front door and with that in mind I plan to re-do the so called front garden. The plan is for slabs set in pebbles with a two seater bench facing out towards the west (afternoon sun) and many plants in pots. (The bench can also accomodate two people each with a glass of wine).
