Busy times

Hope you guys are all enjoying the garden, I have been busy sorting things out for my daughters wedding, not too much time to write anything lately, today is a free day so thought I would update you all on the gardening.

Greenhouse down and veggie garden on its way, brussel plants in and some cabbage plants, carrots and beetroot, lettuce and beans are growing well, just fighting a battle with the pigeons having to net everything to keep them off.

Flowers are bursting out and the garden is starting to get its colour back – the weather has been cold and very wet, and at times very windy, lots of birds feeding their young and even seen a poor little chaffinch feeding a very large baby cuckoo, this is a first for me, managed to get a picture of the young cuckoo, wonder what the chaffinch thinks it is turning into – what a cheek.

Hope that the sun is going to shine from now on and that it only rains while I am fast asleep, good luck with your gardening projects, oh by the way the strawberries are in their bags and growing very well, hopefully soon be able to scoff lots of lovely berries with lots of lovely ice cream. Blow the diet! Will start again tomorrow!

Magic! I read today that there are fewer and fewer Cuckoos about. Sad...

it was a comment on springwatch too, as the favoured host bird is also under threat of habitat loss.
you should send this photo on to the programme.
